Alabaster animate, Lauren's flaxen beauty liquifies my heart, and pours it as a superfluid fruit-smoothie into a pit of longing.
"Abandon false-prophet Kermode!" say I. "The quiff maketh not the man!" I wail.
Yet Lauren heeds not, and now my despair is perfect as a Platonic polyhedron.

Plato also believed that the universe was alive and the world a shadow of an ideal reality. And there is plenty of evidence to bear this out. No other creature has been so copiously camouflaged. The female is a being addicted to the thrills of masquerade, the patina of disinterested unavailability, the dissimulation of all kinds of orthodox dogma about women at large, until, in the harsh torrent of the cold transversal flow of the overhead shower, the mask melts and the real face appears de-prettified, in a Platoesque scene of brutal brightness and impending shadow.
A mere handful survive as a result. And to join this ideal club you must take its one and only pledge: to love and be loved - and I know of no substitute whatsoever.

She's a looker alright.
